Universal Music Group Nashville and FromYouFlowers.com have decided to team up for Mother’s Day. The collaboration is offering 8 floral arrangements inspired by UMG’s lineup of country stars. When you purchase one of these country music arrangements, you will get a free song download from UMG artists. FromYouFlowers.com is even having a sweepstakes with a grand prize being tickets to see the artist of your choice in concert.

acm logo date2010 New Round of ACM Performers Released

I think the ACM Awards are going to be 6 hours long this year. They can not possibly cram any more performers into one awards show. Today, the Academy of Country Music unveiled a few more performers to add to the list. The new additions are Billy Currington, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts and Miranda Lambert.

Toby Keith will also be on hand to perform “Cryin’ For Me” with sax player Dave Koz. Dierks Bentley and Jack Ingram will be playing together and are expected to sing “Barbie Doll”, their collaboration from Ingram’s latest album. Also added to the lineup is John Fogerty who launched a country album in 2009. Performers who were previously announced for the April 18 show include Laura Bell Bundy, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton & Trace Adkins, Lady Antebellum and Reba McEntire, set to host for the 12th time in her career.

The ACMs are getting close. Sunday, April 18th at 8 pm on CBS is the place to be for this tremendous event. Be sure to set your DVR to catch all the great performances.

ASCAP and BMI each held a party Monday night to congratulate Billy Currington for reaching the top of the country music charts with his latest single, “That’s How Country Boys Roll”. This is Billy Currington’s fifth #1, as a singer, but his first as a co-writer. He wrote the hit song with Brett Jones and Dallas Davidson. Among the accolades and hardware Currington took home from these celebrations, he was surprised to when a gold album plaque was presented to him indicating 500,000 sold copies of his latest album “Little Bit of Everything”.

Congrats to Billy for another great song. What will be next?

billy currington Billy Currington Takes #1 Spot from Josh Turner
After a four week run at #1, Josh Turner relinquished the top spot on the Billboard Hot Country Chart to Billy Currington’s, “That’s How Country Boys Roll”. This is Currington’s second consecutive #1 hit as “People Are Crazy” was #1 in 2009. Turner moved down one spot to #2 while Blake Shelton’s “Hillbilly Bone” moved up one place to #3. Easton Corbin with “A Little More Country Than That” and “Temporary Home” by Carrie Underwood round out the Top 5.

Other movers and shakers from this week’s chart include Jason Aldean moving up six spots to #30 with his newest single, “Crazy Town”. Miranda Lambert’s latest single, “The House That Built Me” was the most added song of the week and settled into #32 from last week’s #39. The Hot Shot Debut of the week is Little Big Town’s single, “Little White Church”. Other new songs to enter the Top 60 are, Josh Thompson’s title track, “Way Out There” and The Harters’ debut single “Jenny”.

Congratulations to Billy, but he better keep an eye on the hard charging Blake Shelton and “Hillbilly Bone” for next week. Stay tuned.

Josh Turner Josh Turner Dances On Top of the Charts Again

#1 Keeps Josh Turner Smiling!

For the fourth week in a row, Josh Turner has the #1 single on the Billboard Hot Country Chart. “Why Don’t We Just Dance” is followed by Billy Currington’s “That’s How Country Boys Roll”, which made the jump from #5 to #2. Darius Rucker’s “History In the Making” is hanging on in the #3 slot, while charging to the top in the #4 position is “Hillbilly Bone” by Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins.

Other songs on the move are Easton Corbin’s “A Little More Country Than That”, which jumped over Carrie Underwood to place 6th, from #9. Kenny Chesney is on the brink of the top 10 with his latest single, “Ain’t Back Yet”, which has reached #11 in the three weeks since being officially released. George Strait takes the “most added” title this week with his latest offering “I Gotta Get To You” in at #21.

Jewel, Jason Aldean, and Miranda Lambert all broke into the Top 40 this week with their latest singles. Both Lambert and Aldean accomplished the feat in their second week on the chart. Keep an eye on the “Hot Shot Debut” of the week Tyler Dickerson and his single, “Tell Your Sister I’m Single”. The 15 year old Dickerson enters the chart at #51. Tyler will be hitting the road with Brooks and Dunn during the “Last Rodeo Tour” this year.

Look out for Currington to take the top spot next week. I said that last week, but I think it will finally happen next week. Who is Tyler Dickerson? Here is your chance to find out.

Josh Turner Still Dancing on Top of the Billboard Chart

For the third consecutive week, Josh Turner’s, “Why Don’t We Just Dance”, is the #1 song on the Billboard Hot Country Chart. Brad Paisley’s, “American Saturday Night” has stalled out in the #2 slot while Darius Rucker’s, “History In the Making”, made a little comeback after dropping a spot last week and made it back to the #3 hole. “The Truth” and Billy Currington’s, “That’s How Country Boys Roll” round out the top 5 of this weeks chart.

This week’s chart points out a few interesting side notes. First, Lady Antebellum’s “American Honey” and Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” are neck and neck at #12 and #13 respectively. They have both been on the charts for 10 weeks which shows the immense popularity of Lady A right now. The fact that they are able to rival the same chart success as Taylor is very impressive. Secondly, Kenny Chesney has skyrocketed up the chart and has broken into the top 20 in two weeks. His current single, “Ain’t Back Yet”, debuted at #23 and rose to #15 in week two. He may slow down but expect to see Kenny’s latest track reach the top spot and quickly. Maybe the song will reach #1 just about the time his 3-D movie is released??

Also on the lower part of the chart, Jaron and the Long Road to Love with his single, “Pray for You” has made a considerable jump from #44 to #38 this week. Debuting on the chart this week are Jason Aldean’s “Crazy Town” and Miranda Lambert’s “The House that Built Me”. Both Aldean and Miranda have a lot of momentum right now and it will be interesting to track the progress of these songs.

Next week’s #1 spot may be up for grabs. Will it be Josh Turner for a fourth week? Will Darius Rucker or Billy Currington make the jump to #1?
