While Kenny Chesney has taken a break from his usual summer tour in 2010, Kenny has not slowed down at all. Since announcing his break from touring Kenny has produced a concert movie, “Summer in 3D” and has worked on a high school documentary called “Boys of Fall”. Now Kenny has announced the release of his latest album, “Hemingway’s Whiskey”, which is due out September 28th. Kenny says his new album will reflect the next stage of his music. “I knew I wanted the record to be something more, something that took what I do in my special projects and weaved it into what I do for the mainstream,” says Chesney. “It takes a lot of energy and mental space to be on the road.”

The album’s title track comes from the great song-writer Guy Clark. “I was sitting in my truck and a friend had given me Guy’s album, which had just come out. It’s a song that talks about living life to its fullest, being a man about your responsibilities and not compromising. As soon as I heard it, I knew I had to cut it — and call the album that — because it says everything about the way you live your life, and what life can be if you refuse to buy into limits, which, as someone who’s read all his books, is everything Hemingway’s novels revolved around.”

There will certainly be more details coming out about the new album in the weeks to come, including a lead single. Rocker, Grace Potter, and Chesney have been working on a collaboration, but it has not been announced that their work will be on the new album.

Kmart and Kenny Chesney have decided to work together for a nationwide distribution of Kenny’s movie, “Summer in 3D”. Starting on May 11th, Kmart will be selling a 2D version of the concert film on Kmart.com. The nationwide 3D distribution will follow on June 13th. The concert film will be available in both DVD and Blu-ray.

The collaboration also includes an online sweepstakes that will run through the 20th of June. The Kenny Chesney/Kmart Contest gives fans an opportunity to win great prizes like autographed merchandise and prizes. The grand prize winner will get an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas to meet Kenny and see him live in concert.

All expenses paid trip to Vegas. I do not really know what that means. It could mean a whole bunch of things. My guess is that there is some fine print around that contest entry. Great contest though. Can’t wait to get my hands on the DVD.

“Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D” enjoyed a very successful two week run in movie theaters across the country. It has been announced that the DVD of this Kenny Concert experience will be available to fans beginning on June 8th. Since Kenny won’t be gassing up the tour buses this summer, fans will have to settle for the DVD, a couple of drinks and cranking up the volume.
But what will Kenny be doing this summer other than the few dates he has on his tour schedule?
“I’m always writing songs. I’m working on a new record that’s going to be out at some point, and that’s it, really. I want to get away from being me for awhile,” Kenny explains. “I can promise you that. I’m tired of looking at me on a TV screen…and tired of looking at me in 3D.”

Well fans certainly are not tired of looking and listening to Kenny. His current single, “Ain’t Back Yet” is currently #3 on the country charts and working its way to the top spot.

The money earned from “Summer in 3D” has already exceeded that earned by all other 3D music films except U2 and the Rolling Stones. We are a week away from the national debut of Kenny Chesney’s movie. The media had an opportunity to catch the movie yesterday in Franklin, TN. Here is what Craig at CMT had to say about the movie going experience:

“I can’t recall how many Chesney concerts I’ve covered — probably five or six — and watching this film is just like being pressed up against the catwalk at a Chesney show. You get to see his facial expressions and (surprisingly) even his tears. Plus, he sings several of my favorites, such as “Big Star,” “Living in Fast Forward” and “Anything but Mine.” Chesney himself welcomed the small press corps to the theater, then politely ditched us because he wants to wait until Las Vegas to see it on the big screen. Sometimes I get nervous about how country music will be represented on the big screen but Chesney does us proud.”

Kenny Chesney has announced that the Red Carpet Event from the premiere of his movie “Summer in 3D” will be aired live on Ustream. Nature Valley announced their partnership with country music superstar Kenny Chesney this week. The two will work together to raise up to $500,000 for the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA). Nature Valley National Parks Project provides funding to NPCA that will help restoration projects at some of our national parks, including the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone.

“To me, there’s nothing better than being outside, enjoying the parks, the lakes and the oceans – and that’s what makes protecting our national parks so important,” said Kenny Chesney. “Teaming up with Nature Valley to raise awareness and funds is a great way to make sure the public realizes how special these parks are and that they can have a hand in keeping them available to generations to come.”

You can help out Kenny and Nature Valley. Kenny Chesney fans can purchase movie tickets to “Summer in 3D” through Preserve the Parks. Between now and May 9th, $1 will be donated for each of the first 50,000 movie tickets purchased. The Kenny Chesney Summer Concert movie will be released to nationwide audiences on April 21st.
