The 2010 Teen Choice Awards will take place on August 9th on Fox. The nominees for each of the 50+ categories were released this morning. From movie to music to sports, teens will have a chance to vote for their favorites. Here are the nominees for the country music categories. CMA Music Festival provides fans with amazing opportunities to see their favorite artists around town during the four day event. Lucky fans can even attend Fan Club Parties to see an intimate shows usually in small settings with a few hundred people at most. Then there is Taylor Swift. Taylor decided to throw a free, 13 hour “Meet and Greet” session at Bridgestone Arena on the last day of CMA Fest. Thousands showed up but only about 2,000 were able to have the opportunity to meet Taylor and get an autograph. In the middle of the afternoon, Taylor played a four song set to keep spirits high for fans before she resumed the longest “Meet and Greet” of the weekend. Taylor Swift concluded her “Fearless Tour” in style last night at Gillette Stadium near Boston. In November, the show sold-out in 20 minutes as teeny boppers flocked to fill the 55,000 seat stadium. It was Taylor Swift’s first headlining show in an NFL stadium. Taylor is also the first female to ever headline a concert in the home of the New England Patriots. To add to the festivities, pop superstar Justin Bieber was added to the show which also included ACM Top New Group, Gloriana and American Idol Alum, Kellie Pickler.

Taylor Swift loves her fans and to show her appreciation, she has announced her plan to spend 13 hours meeting and greeting them! On June 13th, during the upcoming CMA Fest, Taylor will be hanging out for 13 hours to get to know as many fans as possible. As everyone knows, Taylor loves the number 13 and this is what she had to say about it:
“My favorite thing about CMA Music Festival has always been getting to spend time with the fans, so this year I wanted to figure out a way to meet as many of them as possible,” Taylor said. “Thirteen is my lucky number, and the 13th is during Music Festival, so I think spending 13 hours that day with my fans is going to be amazing!”
Taylor will be hosting “Taylor Swift’s 13-Hour Meet & Greet” at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The event will include a short acoustic performance around 2 p.m., and will also feature several different fan activities throughout the day. “Taylor Swift’s 13-Hour Meet & Greet” is free and open to the general public.
Taylor Swift will be appearing on the cover of ELLE magazine again, but this time in Japan! The magazine featuring Swift will be in the July 2010 issue. Taylor is clearly loved by fans all around the world, but it seems she’s especially popular in Japan after her recent tour there. This edition of ELLE is sure to be a big seller both here and in Japan.
Taylor Swift accidentally fell during a performance of “Forever and Always” in one of her recent concerts. Now for all of you who have been saying you get a bit annoyed with Taylor and her constant hair movements….this one is for you! Taylor got right up after the fall and looks to be fine. I guess this is going to happen sooner or later with the amount of shows and when you try to bounce up and down, throw furniture, move your hair, and go down stairs all within 10 seconds! Pretty intense performance….hope she’s OK!
Wow, what an amazing night in honor of the career of Brooks and Dunn. CBS and the Academy of Country Music did a great job of bringing all the stars out to salute the greatest duo in country music. The show was rocking from the get go and didn’t stop until Brooks and Dunn along with all their friends closed out the night with, “Play Something Country”.
If you chose to watch the series finale of “Lost” over the Brooks and Dunn Tribute Concert, you may have made a mistake, but you can get a look at the amazing performances below. Videos are from Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Sugarland and Lady Antebellum. Sugarland’s rendition of “Red Dirt Road” is probably my favorite performance of the night. Just amazing. Taylor Swift has revealed that she has pimped her ride with a few out of the ordinary luxuries to ensure she feels at home while on tour.
Taylor, who is currently busy with her “Fearless” Tour, installed a fireplace and a treadmill on her tour bus, so she can stay in shape, and put her feet up in front of the fire while on the road. Ms. Swift has said that a priority for her is to “feel at home” whenever she’s traveling. To make sure this happens and to get some much needed rest during the her very very hectic schedule, Taylor has also added an extra comfy bed to the bus.
Taylor Swift also used some down time to do some shopping in NYC this past weekend. Taylor checked out a few different stores in Manhattan, including Rugby. I’m loving Taylor’s cute dress…..too bad she can’t seem to go out anywhere these days without being hunted down by cameras. Doesn’t look like she minds too much. Friday, May 14th “Sing Me Back Home: A Journey Through Country Music” will re-open to the public as a permanent exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Among the many items added to the exhibit will be Carrie Underwood’s 2007 Grammy dress created by Badgley Mischka. Carrie’s dress is a jaw dropper but there are many other great items in the exhibit also. Other items include, Jamey Johnson’s 2004 Epiphone Masterbilt acoustic guitar, Brad Paisley’s Serratelli cowboy hat, Keith Urban’s 1954 Harmoney Stratotone electric guitar and Taylor Swift’s gown from the 2009 CMA Awards.
This will be a big weekend for the Hall of Fame. The curators of the exhibit will talk about their project on Friday. Then on Saturday, Naomi Judd and Joe Galante will be on hand to talk to fans at 1:30 pm. Check out all of the other great programs at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
